Sermon June 30 2024 - "What God Has Done for You"
Jul 01, 2024
Pastor Chris Cahill

On the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee is one of the nation of Israel’s National Parks, Kursi National Park. This is the area where Jesus may have performed the miracle in today’s Gospel lesson (Mark 5:1-20), when He commanded a legion of demons to leave a man they had been tormenting. The demons immediately infested a herd of pigs, who hurled themselves off a nearby cliff and were washed into the waters of Galilee.

This summer most of the Gospel lessons are in the Gospel according to Saint Mark. These readings talk about Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, and His action-packed ministry. But each of the readings also has a “takeaway” from Jesus Himself! We’ll focus on these “red-letter” verses this summer. Here’s the this week’s: “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.”  (Mark 5:19)
